Eric Windhurst of Hopkinton, convicted of murdering his friend’s abusive stepfather in 1985 has been denied early release. Judge Richard McNamara denied the request. Newport guidance counselor convicted of indecent exposure

Thomas Mauzy of Sunapee, a Newport High School guidance counselor has been sentenced to a year in the Sullivan County House of Corrections suspended for two years, including two years of probation and psychological testing. Mauzy was found guilty of seven counts of indecent exposure and lewdness in Newport District Court on Tuesday.
