Newport woman arrested for embezzlement
Vermont State police arrested Barbara Stone, 57, of Newport for embezzlement, following an investigation requested by the town of Plymouth, VT. Authorities say Stone, Plymouth’s Town Clerk and Treasurer cashed several checks written to herself on the Town of Plymouth’s account totaling $20,000. Peterborough couple killed in Florida crash
A man and a woman from Peterborough are in critical condition after a vehicle crash in Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Lisa Foley and passenger Patrick Foley, both 47, were struck in the rear by a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Maribelle Ilarraza, 22, Orlando, at mile marker 309 on Interstate 95.
