Famous New London children’s book author dead at 85
Beloved children’s book author and longtime New London resident Tomie dePaola has died, his publisher announced on Monday. He was 85 years old. He was best known for writing the Strega Nona series and “26 Fairmount Avenue.” Tomie dePaola was born in Meriden, Conn. Antrim Select Board adopts COVID-19 emergency protocols
With Governor Sununu’s order # 17 all previous actions the Town of Antrim has taken to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus will remain in effect until May 4th. After consulting with our Health Officer and listening to State officials we have decided to close Antrim Town offices effective March 18 in order to protect Antrim Residents and Town employees from potential exposure to the Covid-19 virus. COVID-19 at Hopkinton Elementary School
Superintendent Steve Chamberlain has confirmed that the Hopkinton School District was informed of its first known positive test for COVID 19 (an employee at Harold Martin School). The individual has relatively mild symptoms and is doing fine. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has been notified and provided guidance. Attorney General warns of COVID-19 scams
The N.H. Attorney General’s Office is warning residents to be alert to possible scams arising from the COVID-19 outbreak. Police rescue 14-year-old Peterborough girl
N.H. Fish and Game officials report that a 14-year-old girl was rescued after becoming lost in the woods Friday when she went for an evening hike on the trails off Prescott Road. She was rescued by Peterborough police at about 9 p.m. near Middle Hancock Road, just before two New Hampshire Fish and Game officers arrived on the scene. The girl apparently set out at about 6 p.m. for an hour-long walk along wooded trails near her home when she became disoriented as darkness fell. The teen told officers…
